ABOUT
I BEGAN AGAIN AT 40.
Four kids, a kitchen table and no interest in building another business that swallowed me whole.
I’m Belle, founder of Brand Tales.
I help business owners work out what their marketing actually needs—and what it really doesn’t—so the business can grow without everything becoming busier, louder and more complicated.

20
businesses since 2023
13
years in marketing, including ten running my own business
80%
reduction in my overheads when I stopped trying to do everything
293%
growth in my own business the year I finally took my own advice
Turns out “more” wasn’t the answer. Annoying, really.
MEET ME PROPERLY
I TOOK MY OWN MEDICINE.
Eventually.
For ten years, I co-ran a wine business. We had a good strategy, strong growth and a business I was proud of.
I also did nearly every job in it, at a pace no one should try to maintain, while telling myself that was simply what running a business looked like.
Then I started Brand Tales and—with impressive commitment—repeated the entire pattern.
By September 2025, I had ten retainers, no proper systems and a well-developed habit of saying yes to everything.
I was busy, reactive and doing precisely what I tell clients not to do.
So I stopped.
I got a coach. Worked out what my time and experience were actually worth. Cut the business back to a handful of clients and became much clearer about the work I should be doing.
My overheads dropped by 80 per cent.
My profit went up.
That’s why I sell focus. I’ve paid for the alternative.
WHAT IT'S ACTUALLY LIKE
YOU GET ME. NOT A DEPARTMENT.
No junior doing the thinking, no account manager relaying it, no team you never meet.
I work with a small number of businesses because it is the only way I know how to do it properly. It means I learn your products, your customers and what your team can realistically carry, and I notice when something changes.
It also means I tell you things sooner than is comfortable. That is usually the most useful part.
Every call, every document, every decision. Me.
HOW I WORK
FIVE THINGS I WON'T BUDGE ON.
Most of these lessons have cost me money.
I intend to get my money’s worth.
AUDIT BEFORE ADVICE.
I’ve told one client not to rebuild their website. I’ve told another, after two years together, that what they needed next was a specialist—not me.
Those are the two I’d want you to ring.
ONE THING AT A TIME, IN THE RIGHT ORDER.
The order is most of the work.
Fixing the third problem first is how a year disappears while everyone remains extremely busy.
GROWTH HAS TO FIT THE BUSINESS CARRYING IT.
A rush of orders your team can’t fulfil isn’t a marketing win.
It’s a customer-service problem you paid to create.
STRATEGY DECIDES WHAT GETS BUILT.
I don’t recommend work simply because I can sell it.
If the answer is email, ads or a specialist, I’ll say so—and I take no margin from anyone I refer.
I do build Shopify sites when the website is part of the problem. But we start with the strategy, not a template and a hopeful list of features.
MY JOB IS TO MAKE YOU NEED ME LESS.
I explain the thinking behind every recommendation.
If the person responsible for your marketing isn’t making better decisions six months from now, I haven’t done my job.
WHO I WORK WITH.
I keep my client list deliberately short. It means I can get properly inside each business, understand what it can carry and give the work the attention it deserves.
If you’re turning over less than $2 million, we may still get on brilliantly—but there often isn’t enough volume yet for this level of strategy to earn its keep. I learnt that the expensive way, which is why I’m upfront about it now.
SEE THE THREE WAYS WE CAN WORK TOGETHERBrand Tales is usually the right fit for:
- Founder-led ecommerce businesses and SMEs turning over $2 million to $10 million+
- Businesses with someone in place who can carry out the work
- Owners who need clear decisions, not another pair of hands
- People willing to fix the important thing before starting the exciting thing
THINK WE'D GET ON?
Book thirty minutes with me.
No charge, no pitch and no awkward follow-up campaign waiting in the bushes.
Tell me what’s happening in the business and I’ll tell you honestly whether I can help.
If I’m not the right person, I’ll point you towards someone who might be. I’ve done it before. Everybody survived.
You’ll hear back from me within one business day.
